![]() Ryu gives you your typical RPG experience, with party members and towns to explore, while Fou-lu starts off as a ridiculously powerful character who doesn't need friends to help him in battle. There's a great dual narrative going on, too, with two dragon-men, one of flame and one of frost, serving as protagonist and deuteragonist, hero and playable villain. It can get a bit cliche - there's an ancient evil empire, a princess to rescue, dragons to see (and transform into) - but it's written well enough that it remains captivating. You see its effects on the world's inhabitants, with entire towns being closed off and caught in monster producing mist leftover from weapons used in the war. ![]() There's been a war, and you're thrown into the aftermath of it. The story is actually more interesting, and darker, than BoFIII.
